Tips for Parents: How to Get Free Money for College – Level 3

Did you know that there is free money available for college? All you have to do is fill out an application called FAFSA to see if you qualify to receive free money for your education. There is NO cost to fill out FAFSA and anyone can apply, you, your children, friends and family! You can find the link to the FAFSA application in English and Spanish towards the end of this article.

But, if your child is considered “dependent”,
you will need to provide some information and sign it as well.
on the FAFSA, you will need to sign the FAFSA, too.
If you have a social security number.
You can get your own FSA ID to sign the FAFSA online.
StudentAid.gov/fsaid to create your own FSA ID.
If you are a parent without a Social Security number,
You will not be able to get an FSA ID and will not be able to sign the FAFSA online.
nstead, your child will submit the FAFSA
without a parent signature.
and then print a paper signature page.
