These States Are Issuing Their Own Stimulus Checks And Financial Incentives

With many federal assistance programs set to end this year, anticipating the end of the pandemic, many states are continuing to offer aid to their residents. While some states are boosting their benefits, others are taking them away entirely. Read more to find out:

California

Earlier this spring, residents making less than $30,000 should have received their first $600 Golden State stimulus check. A second check of $600 was recently approved for households and individuals making between $30,000 and $75,000 plus $500 for households with dependent children and undocumented individuals who missed out on federal stimulus checks.

Florida

Many K-12 teachers and first responders will receive $1,000 checks.

Maryland 

Individuals and families making between $15,000 and $56,000 should have received their $500 or $300 checks in February depending on certain requirements

Which states are offering incentives to return to work? 

Although President Biden’s American Rescue Plan will continue to offer an extra $300 per week in unemployment benefits through September, over 20 Republican-led states have announced an end to this benefit

However, some states are offering a financial incentive to return to work: 

Arizona

Full-time workers will receive $2,000 for completing 320 hours of employment and part-time workers will receive $1,000 for completing 160 hours as part of the state’s Back to Work Program. 

Connecticut

The Back to Work CT Program offers individuals who work eight consecutive weeks a one-time $1,000 payment. The program runs through the end of the year. 

Montana

Individuals who sign contracts for full-time work will receive $,200 after working four weeks at their new job. 

New Hampshire 

New part-time employees who make $25 or less an hour will receive $500 and full-time will receive $1,000 bonuses after completing eight weeks of work as part of the Summer Stipend Program

Oklahoma

The first 20,000 individuals who sign contracts for full-time work and work 32 hours a week for six consecutive weeks will receive $1,200. This benefit runs from May 17 to September 4.
