The focus of this week will be immigration. Use these words to talk to your co-workers, classmates, or new friends about this topic! Having conversations in English may be scary at first, but it is a great way to practice your English and get to know people better.

Most detainees who are deported aren’t criminals.
9% of those deported in 2013 actually qualified as level one priority as defined by ICE.
Who benefits from these aggressive policies? Private companies.
62% of ICE detention facilities were run by private companies.
The more detainees there are, the more profit. Companies do their fair share of lobbying.
