This afternoon, the Oscars will be on TV. This is an awards show for the best movies of the year. It’s also a fun way to practice your English. They will show a lot of movie clips (just like I send!) and the movie stars will make thank-you speeches, where they speak slowly and clearly.
You can watch it on ABC this afternoon. The “red carpet”, when all of the celebrities arrive, starts at 4 PM. The ceremony, when they give the awards and speeches, starts at 5:30 PM.
