How do I describe wine?
Wine can be really simple to describe. Don’t worry about fancy descriptors. I do want to be able to evaluate the sight, the aroma, and the taste of the wine.
sight
I look at this Pinot Noir. It reminds me of what the color garnet is or a brick red.
aroma
I spin the wine around, and I put my nose in the glass. It smells like cherry and raspberries and a little bit of rose petal going on in there.
taste
And then when I taste the wine…it’s delicious. I have the cherry and raspberry going on. It has a silky smooth mouthfeel. In no way is it rough on my mouth. It’s smooth.
